Meet Our Air Show Teams - Radio Active Airshows

Radio Active Airshows is one of the AMA's sanctioned show teams and is part of a network of teams coast to coast. Our mission is two fold. First we work to introduce the world of model aviation to the general public with a big focus on working with kids. We do this by flying and static displaying at full scale airshows all over the Mid-Atlantic region. While working these shows we fly a 30 minute airshow segment as part of the full scale show. The rest of our time there is spent working with the general public answering questions, letting them fly our mobile flight simulator, and working to plug them into our great hobby/sport. It is truly a labor of love and we are honored to be able to do this and represent our hobby.
 
Our second mission is to work with kids as much as we can. Our team started in 1995 and our first shows were working at schools. This was very exciting but over time the places we were able to fly at became surrounded with housing developments and we had to let that go for a while. Now with the advancement of electrics and flying indoors this part of our mission has had a wonderful rebirth. For the last 2 years we have practice flying in a very small gym and have put an indoor show together. It is call the "Imagination of Flight". This has been the most difficult and the most rewarding thing we have ever tried to do. The indoor shows we have done have been amazing. The excitment and energy we get from the kids is overwhelming. Our prayer is that we can inspire the kids we fly infront of to use their Imaginations and DREAM BIG!
